The Educational Experience

Columbia Engineering’s undergraduate program combines an unparalleled breadth and depth of majors and minors with extra- and co-curricular programming designed to foster leadership abilities and a problem-solving mindset. Students start designing engineering solutions in their first semester, take part in important research, and expand their thinking in Columbia’s legendary Core Curriculum. 

Students also benefit from supportive advisors and mentors who help guide their academic and career path. 

Opportunities for Entrepreneurship

Columbia Engineering's Entrepreneurship program support students, faculty, and alumni (from SEAS and across the university) at all stages of innovation and entrepreneurship activities. Resources include:

  • Competitions: Fast Pitch, SEAS Design Challenges (IoT, Water Quality), Hackathons (DevFest for software and Make CU for hardware), WE (Women in Entrepreneurship) Pitch, and Columbia Venture Competition
