Wendy is majoring in Industrial Engineering & Operations Research and plans to utilize her major to go into the Investment Banking industry after graduation.

While in high school, Wendy fell in love with engineering during her two-year internship with Professor Kawashima at the Carleton Lab for civil engineering at Columbia. She helped with numerous projects concerning the experimental cement and concrete research, which aims to tie microstructural behavior to macro scale structural response. During her summer before sophomore year at Columbia, she worked as a research intern for Professor David Yao on an Industrial Engineering project, where she programmed simulations for optimization of the emergency room in the Columbia Medical Center and analyzed found data to enhance the simulation model.

In addition to her research experiences, Wendy has explored her passion for technology, business, and the financial sector as well. She has worked as a Finance Strategy Analyst for Hyundai Securities America Inc. where she helped research the potential venture firms for investment. On campus, she worked as a Business Development Intern for Gooroo to strategize and execute growth plans for the company at Columbia. Last summer, she worked as a technology business analyst at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and is going back next summer as technology investment banking analyst to explore more of the intersection between tech and banking.

Apart from academics, Wendy likes to spend her time playing tennis, golf, piano, or binge watching old movies on Netflix.
