Neuroeducation and Cognitive Classroom Lead,
Learning Sciences and Cognitive Computing Department
IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center
Title: Multi-scale modeling and data-driven approaches for soft matter characterization
Abstract: Multi-scale molecular modeling and data-driven methods are becoming indispensable tools for designing and characterizing soft matter systems, such as proteins, nucleic acids, polymers, and surfactants. In this talk, I will discuss molecular simulations at different resolution, which explain critical role of solvation in determining the structure and assembly of proteins and polymers. I will also talk about how machine learning techniques are becoming increasingly useful in understanding the complex structure-function relationship of soft materials.
Host: Prof. I.C. Noyan
