Columbia Engineering for Humanity Inaugural Lecture with Kai-Fu Lee
Thursday,
October 4, 2018
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Dean Mary C. Boyce cordially invites you to join her for an in-depth discussion with Dr. Kai-Fu Lee, one of the world’s most respected experts on Artificial Intelligence. Dr. Lee’s new book “A.I. Superpowers: China, Silicon Valley, and the New World Order” has broad appeal across technology, science, investing, politics, employment, and even the meaning of life. Dr. Lee will reveal how China is now catching up to the United States in A.I., and will outline how the coming changes to the employment and economic landscape will require an effective response from individuals and governments.
Immediately following the discussion, the Columbia Engineering Board of Visitors will host a networking reception with light refreshments. Dr. Lee’s book will be available for purchase and signing during the reception.
Space is limited! Advance registration is required and we expect a sell-out crowd.
Columbia Engineering for Humanity is a new lecture series highlighting the ways in which the School’s interdisciplinary approach to global challenges impacts society—and sets a bold path for a sustainable, healthy, secure, connected, and creative humanity.
