Education

Postdoctoral researcher at Cambridge University and The Royal Institution of Great Britain in 1994; and a research associate for the Department of Physics at the Brookhaven National Laboratory and Stony Brook University in 1992. She earned her BS degree in 1980 and her MS degree in 1982 both from the University of São Paulo, Brazil; and her PhD in condensed matter physics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1988.

Interface of computational materials physics and mineral physics, atomic scale phenomena in materials at planetary interior conditions, methods to simulate materials at extreme conditions
