Steve Fludder is a global executive in energy and infrastructure markets with nearly 30 years of leadership experience at Samsung and GE, including 15 years of international assignments throughout Asia and the Middle East. Mr. Fludder joined Samsung Engineering in 2010 as a Samsung group officer where he is currently head of worldwide sales and marketing. Samsung Engineering is a global engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm serving a broad range of energy industries including power, oil & gas, chemicals, petrochemicals, and metallurgy.

At GE Mr. Fludder served as a Vice President and GE corporate officer. He led GE’s company-wide environmental business initiative “ecomagination” which under his leadership grew to $18 billion and 20% of GE’s industrial revenue. He has significant experience scaling and growing energy related technology businesses through start-ups, acquisitions and turnarounds. His track record includes organic and inorganic growth in both developed and emerging markets.

He began his career as an engineer at GE Aircraft Engines and rose to lead the development and commercialization of several new aircraft engine models. In 1994, Mr. Fludder moved to Asia for a series of emerging market leadership roles across multiple GE businesses, including; GE Marine & Industrial Engines, GE Energy Services, and GE Wind Energy. In 2003 he became President and CEO of GE Energy China where annual sales grew ten-fold to more than $1 billion in the 3 year period under his leadership. In 2006 Mr. Fludder was elected a corporate officer by GE’s Board of Directors and appointed Vice President of global sales and service for GE’s Water business, a $2 billion enterprise. He subsequently led ecomagination for the entire company, working directly with GE’s Chairman and CEO.

Mr. Fludder currently serves on Columbia University’s Board of Visitors for the School of Engineering. He served on HP CEO’s environmental advisory board, Columbia University Earth Institute’s Corporate Circle, and the intergovernmental US-India Track II Dialog on Climate Change and Energy. He also served on the GE Chairman’s corporate Commercial Council.

He holds a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Providence College.

Mr. Fludder is married with 3 children. He is presently based at Samsung headquarters in Seoul, Korea.
