Prof. Upmanu Lall: Will the Next War be Fought Over Water?
Upmanu Lall, the Alan and Carol Silberstein Professor of Earth and Environmental Engineering (Henry Krumb School of Mines) and professor of civil engineering, has landed all over the Internet with two opinion pieces published as well as a pair of video discussions. The e-blitz comes on International Water Day, organized annually March 22 by the United Nations to focus attention on the importance of freshwater and advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
Lall, who is also director of the Columbia Water Center, is featured in a pair of videos on Big Think, recently voted Time Magazine's "#1 Website for News and Info":
