Assistant Professors Xi Chen and Junfeng Yang have been named Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellows for 2012. They are among 126 early-career researchers of outstanding promise who were selected in recognition of their achievements and the potential to contribute substantially to their fields. MORE

Ursula M. Burns, chairman and chief executive officer of Xerox Corporation, will be the keynote speaker for Columbia Engineering’s Class Day ceremony, which will be held on May 14, 2012. MORE


Ph.D. Student Wins Facebook Fellowship

Computer Science Ph.D. candidate Jeremy Andrus has been named a Facebook Fellow. Andrus is one of only 12 fellows tapped nationwide from a field of more than 300 applicants. MORE

Engineering Senior Jacob Andreas Wins Churchill Scholarship

Columbia Engineering senior Jacob Andreas has won the Churchill Scholarship, the first student from the School to receive the prestigious award. Andreas, a computer science major, is one of 14 students nationwide to receive the Churchill scholarship. MORE

With fewer jobs and more candidates, this webinar will examine resume strategies, which will move your resume to the top of the hiring manager’s pile and help get you an interview. Career Counselor Karen Palevsky will share tips on how to target your resume for specific positions, account for gaps, freelance consulting, volunteer, and self-employment, and most importantly, to highlight and quantify accomplishments that set you apart from the competition. Media Networking Night
